    Hi,

I’m looking to purchase EE, however I plan to run the site in two different languages (EN and RU). My ideal plan would be to have
    http://en.domain.com and http://ru.domain.com

Would this require a separate license for each subdomain though they’ll be the same site?

    Thanks! 😊

    Hi James,

    Not at all!

For an example of a multi-lingual site running in a similar fashion, visit http://www.parragon.com/

For some ideas about this is accomplished, this strategy from Made by Hippo has proven effective.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

    Cheers,

Thanks for the reply 😊 I’m not too sure if it would work in my scenario, as content could be different for both sites (the site owner and structure would be the same, just the inner content such as news articles), so I was thinking of running it in two separated EE folders (so effectively two separate installations for the same site).

    Would this affect it?

    Hi James,

Indeed, the content is different, and the correct channels (distinct content, same layouts) are called based on specific variables set in each index.php

However, if you want to go a simpler route, you could look into using Multiple Site Manager or Transcribe.

Let me know if you have further questions!

    Cheers,
