Search Link Problem

    Hello,

    In EE1.69, after performing a successful simple search and attempting to link to a story from the list of hits received then I then experience an invalid link address. Upon inspection there is a truncated link address being attempted and it needs to be repaired.

    I have searched for the location that the link is sourced from but all to no avail. I am thinking it should be in the template set: “Search” and in the template “Results,” but can’t spot the code involved.

    If you can advise me where to find the truncated link address (its source location), then I’ll edit it and put an end to this nuisance.

    Here is the not so sophisticated code being used in my main INDEX module:

    <!---   # START OF SEARCH MODULE #  --->

    <div class="module">
      <div>
               <div>
                         <div>

    <h2>Search</h2>
    <p>                                         <br />
    {exp:search:simple_form search_in="everywhere"}</p>

    <p><input type="text" name="keywords" value="" class="input" size="22" maxlength="100" /></p>

    <p><br />
    <a href="http://{path=search/index}">Advanced Search</a></p>

    <p><input type="submit" value="submit"  class="submit" /></p><br />
    {/exp:search:simple_form}</p>

    <p>      </div><br />
                   </div><br />
                             </div><br />
                                      </div></p>

    <p><! ---  # END OF SEARCH MODULE  # --->

    Many Thanks,
    Paul Munnis

    I am not following too closely. Do you have a link to the site where we can see this for ourselves?

    Hi Ingmar,

    Link to http://www.therochesterdemocrat.com and on the front page, left panel, is a search box. Use Dutch as your search argument. It will find a search hit about the Dutch and then click on it to link to the full story. It won’t be able to link to it. When you check the address that it tried to go to (up in the browser URL section) it will be http://www.rochesterdemocrat.com an invalid link address. If you slip The in before rochesterdemocrat.com it will link perfectly. I need to know the location of the misspelled link so that I can edit it.

    Best

    Hi Paul,

    Please edit the preferences for the weblog in which the problematic article is posted (Admin > Weblog Administration > Weblog Management) and make sure that the Search Results URL in Path Settings is correct for that weblog.

    Cheers
