Could a missing space cause a problem?

    I’ve had a few problems with a Safecracker page recently, most of the time it works OK, but occasionally doesn’t save properly.

    I checked code and all I could find was a missing space between the name and value parameters, what do you think, would this affect anything?

    eg:

    {exp:safecracker}
    <input type="hidden" name="who"value="{member_id}"/>
    <input type="submit" value="Go" />
    {/exp:safecracker}

    Hey Sam Sullivan,

    I suppose it could, but I would think it would fail all the time, not just randomly. Right? That is really odd. Unless maybe we are dealing with some odd caching?

    Is there anything else you can tell me about the behavior when it does not save?

    What version of EE is this?

    Thanks,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

    It does seem to work with and without that space, on my browser that is.

    Maybe it’s down to some browsers not liking the missing space, while others can handle it, your thoughts seem to suggest it shouldn’t so sure this must be the problem.

    Hey Sam,

    That sounds reasonable. It could be a browser thing.

    Which versions have you tried?

    Thanks,
