Does anyone know why the FTP class doesn’t support DOWNLOADING from the server? I checked the documentation for this class at:

http://ellislab.com/codeigniter/user-guide/libraries/ftp.html

...and didn’t find anything for downloading (only uploading). What are my options if I want to download from the server onto a remote location?

I answered your email request but for others users looking for this in the future, try my Improved FTP Class

If you dont want/need all the other changes (such as the SSL support or configuration groups) just copy the function download() bit into a MY_FTP extention class.
