I’m a MS technology guy (for over 9 years now). Very recently (for the first time) I thought to do something other than .NET and thought of PHP to be my first non MS technology attempt for implementing some idea. Being worked on ASP.NET MVC3 for long, I wanted something that supports MVC pattern, is easy to configure and learn. After doing a echo “Hello World”, I started looking for frameworks that a newbie can work with. Downloaded Zend but couldn’t configure it. Then downloaded Symfony but again couldn’t get it work (Still wondering why it required me to download over 30MB folder framework)
Finally on some forum I read about codeigniter. Less than 3MB, excellent video tutorial to get started and in a day or so I was all set to start work on my project.
This is really very good framework. Congrats to the team. I’ve created an open source in .NET so know how much effort, thought process and motivation is required to build frameworks that help end user (actually developers).
Great work guys!
