I have some questions about EE there as follows.

1. What license do i need the website is paid by my self and ads are there to pay for hosting. The website has no company behind it only volunteers and users.

2. Multiple Site Manager how does the licensing work i don’t understand it. When i buy Multiple Site Manager what else do i need do i still need to buy normal licenses (non-commercial or commercial) or do i need to get the MSM add. site license.

3. Does the software come with Blogs for the users on the site like vBulletin has or Wordpress MU.

4. On the show case website i see that they have a CMS like idea is that all ready in EE or is it add-on driven or something else. The newspapers you see is what i am looking for.

5. A bridge for either Xenforo or IPB is that available or is vBulletin the only one i can’t seem to find information about it.

6. Is there a tryout license that i can use on a internal server to see what EE can do for me.

It sounds like you need a Non-Commercial license.

MSM is an expansion for EE, so you’ll need an EE License and an MSM License, which will allow you to power a total of 3 sites with your EE installation. You can also purchase Additional MSM Site licenses to allow your installation to run more than those 3 sites, and pricing for that can be found here.

ExpressionEngine does not come with “blogs”. It’s a blank canvas for you to do whatever you wish with. But it does lend itself to blogging very easily.

The showcase shows off sites created in ExpressionEngine. Sometimes it’s all done native and other times users choose to use Add-Ons. Devot:ee is a great place to find Add-Ons.

I am not familiar with Xonforo or IPB. If you give me a little more info, I might be able to talk about that.
