Send to Member Groups does not list all groups

Hello,

When I try to email my members, under “Send to Member Groups”...only Super Admins is listed.

I have the Members group, and another group I created, based off of the Members group.

Is there some setting I have to change, so that these member groups are included in the list of groups-that-I-can-email?

I’m running EE2.5.1. This was a clean install of EE version 2.4 - not an update from version 1x. The Email module is installed (version 2.0 of that module.)

Hey Lesli,

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

What happens if you change the “Can send email to Member Groups” under Control Panel Email Privileges.

That should allow you to see that email ground.

Cheers,

I’m the only one who’s going to be sending email through the control panel, and I’m in the Super Admins group.

However…when I go to the Member Groups | Edit Member Group | Super Admins, the only options there are
Member Group Name
Member Group Descriptino
Include Members in PUBLISH page multi-author list?
Include Members in Site’s Member List?

So then I went to the Member Groups | Edit Member Group | Pending, and turned all of the Control Panel Email Privileges to Yes. I did the same thing for two other groups: Members, and one I created based off of Members. Then I logged out of the Control Panel, closed the browser, relaunched the browser, and logged back in to the control panel.

Then I went back to Tools | Communicate. And this is all I saw:

It still only listed the Super Admins as the only group I could send emails to.

Hey Lesli,

This sounds buggy. Can you upgrade to 2.5.2 and if the issue is still present, I would like to login and take a look.

I’ve upgraded, and it’s still only showing me the Super Admins group.

Please let me know where I should email the login info. I’ve got that temporary support account that you folks used previously; but I changed the password (and had it set in the Banned group, as a precaution,) so I’ll have to send you the new password.

Thanks, Shane - that did the trick! I wasn’t even aware of those particular settings.

To anyone else who wants to send email to a member group, but doesn’t see that member group in the Communicate list:
Go to Members || Member Groups.
Click on “Edit Group” for a member group.
Scroll down and look for the heading “Member Account Privileges.”
Under that, there is a setting called “Allow Members in Site’s Mailing Lists and Related Abilities? (i.e. Group Available in Communicate section)”
Set that to Yes if the group doesn’t show up in the Communicate page as a group to be emailed to.

Thanks again, Shane - this thread can be closed.
