Pretty straight-forward little accessory.. this is simply a way to remove clutter from your publish menu - by hiding those channels which you never manually publish to.

Note: Hidden Channels doesn’t enforce any security to prevent users publishing to a channel if they know the correct URL - it only removes the links from the main navigation menu and CP homepage.

I’ve uploaded this to Devot:ee, but while that’s pending you can download from Bitbucket here: http://bitbucket.org/crescendo/hidden_channels/downloads

So I found a bug with this accessory during the install.

I uploaded the following files from the zip here: http://bitbucket.org/crescendo/hidden_channels/downloads

accessories/acc.hidden_channels.php
javascript/hidden_channels.js
language/english/lang.hidden_channels.php

then I went to my CP Accessories and I got this error:
can not find file: hidden_channels_lang.php

So my guess is that the accessory is instructed to look for an incorrect file name. I changed the “lang.hidden_channels.php” to the requested name and the accessory page loaded!

Unfortunately I can’t get this to work on EE 2.1.1.

On every page reload the hidden channels tab just flashes at the bottom of my CP for just a millisecond and that’s it. I can configure the member group setting using Addons > Accessoires > Hidden Channels (1.0.1) though, but I can’t setup which channels to hide.

This is working fine for me. Don’t try to install the individual files into their locations. Instead, upload the folder to your expressionengine/third_party directory, then go to Add-ons > Accessories and click the “install” link next to Hidden Menus. After that when you go to your channel management screen you can click the “hidden” icon next to any channel to remove it from the publish menu.

UPDATE: This worked 100%. I guess I did not realize where the controls for this add-on existed. Threw me off a bit.

Simple and powerful extension for client-handoff. Glad its out there.
