Wiki image URLs not correct?

I must admit that this is the first time I’ve ever set up a wiki, but I’m confused as to how the image display works. I’ve created a specific upload directory just for the wiki, and it seems to work fine except for the fact that the images will not display. They simply appear as “broken”—you know, the URL seems incorrect.

I also noticed that the files are uploading to the directory without file extensions. So my “image-file.png” is simply “image-file”. Is this correct behavior?

And the wiki image output is apparently different from embedding within a weblog or channel. It seems to be encoded…

Anyway, I really don’t have a clue as to what is happening, and the EE forms, wiki, and docs don’t seem to address this anywhere.

Oh, and we’re using Textile for the markup in the wiki.

What version and build of EE are you using? Do you’ve got a link?

Hey, Ingmar. We’re still testing, but here’s the wiki sample page:

http://baronservices.ehclients.com/index.php/wiki/test

I’ve got it set so that only super admins can do anything.

I’m on EE 2.1.0, build 20100720. The wiki is 1.2.

Thanks!

Addison,

Can you upgrade EE to most recent version please.
Also can you show us the Textile syntax you using to link to the image file?

The most current version of the Wiki Module is 2.1. Was this a mistype by yourself?
Is this a fresh install or an upgrade of EE?

Hey, John—we should be on the latest version of EE. And this is copied from the footer of the wiki:

ExpressionEngine Wiki - Version 1.2

But under the module list it shows 2.1—sorry about that.

You’ll see that I finally got an image to show up using Textile:

http://baronservices.ehclients.com/index.php/wiki/test

I had to use !/images/wiki/image-name! with no file extension. However, I think we’d find it easier by just using the standard “Add file” and “Add image” method. Neither of these…

[[Image
:image_name]]

...seem to work.

There is a new build, so I’ll update today as soon as I can.

Wow. Sorry to take so long…

I’ve finally upgraded to the latest build and still no images. Additionally, the wiki occasionally give two PHP errors:

A PHP Error was encountered

Severity
Notice

Message
Undefined variablewidth

Filename
libraries/EE_Typography.php

Line Number
1053

And:

A PHP Error was encountered

Severity
Notice

Message
Undefined variableheight

Filename
libraries/EE_Typography.php

Line Number
1053

See here: http://baronservices.ehclients.com/index.php/wiki

Thanks,
Addison

Addison,

I can replicate the php errors after hitting submit. I created a bug report here on your behalf.

Can I confirm that this is how you are adding an image please.

On the article Edit page click on View 10 Most Recent File Uploads. If you need an older file click on Uploaded Files in the navigation and then select file. You’ll see the appropriate code to use to call that file or image. See attached

[[File:image_name.jpg]]
[[Image
:image_name.jpg]]

Thanks, John. Yes—I’m adding images (or files) exactly as you describe and neither seem to work.

I’ve also looked in the upload folder on the server, and files are being saved to the folder without file extensions (for example, some-file.jpg is saved as some-file). Not sure if that’s normal behavior.

Addison,

Bug report was an actual duplicate of another one so closing this thread out as it has been fixed for next release. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions
