Never mind, I just found it in the HTML buttons. it seems rather odd that it gets added from the upload menu and the html image button

img src="[![Link:!:http://]!]" alt="[![Alternative text]!]"

any idea why its doing that?

I’m having the same issue with the 2.1.0 version. Didn’t have that before with the latest public beta, EE2 was just adding

{filedir_1}filename.jpg

back then. Didn’t find a solution so far if this is a bug.

I’m afraid I’m not reproducing. Have you both completely deleted your /themes/cp_themes directory and uploaded that folder freshly from the EE 2.1 package? You might have some old beta files lurking about.

I have a clean install of 2.1 never used the beta on this domain and mine has that too. Just food for thought since it’s not any beta stuff lurking around.

I have completely deleted the “themes” folder in the public beta before updating and re-uploaded the one for the 2.1. After that I did the update to 2.1. Do you recommend that I delete this again and re-upload /themes/cp_themes directory?

Kevin, do you have any extensions installed?

All, please walk us through exactly what steps you’re taking to reproduce this.

All, please walk us through exactly what steps you’re taking to reproduce this.

It happens when I create a new post in one of my channels. I have a separate input field with a button to upload an image. Once I browse to the image in question and choose I get the return to publish field and when that is clicked the img tag with that

<img src="{filedir_7}fontfonter1.png"  alt="[![Alternative text]!]" width="229" height="129" alt="" />

In the file upload preferences the image properties field is set to an empty alt attribute. So I get this extra

alt="[![Alternative text]!]"

I have “Word Limiter”, “Short’n Tweet” as plugins and NSM Live Look and CP Analytics Settings as extensions installed.

Okay, I’m able to reproduce this with a Text Input field, but not a Textarea field. It doesn’t seem to make a difference what the Image Properties are set to in the File Upload Location settings.

If that lines up with what you are seeing, would you please file a detailed Bug Report and link to the report here? Thanks!
