How to specify thumbnail dimensions

Searched the docs but not luck.

When I upload an image to a channel it creates a thumbnail but I don’t see anywhere that I can specify the dimensions of that thumb.

Thanks

fensterbaby,

For EE2, the plugin should go into /system/expressionengine/third_party

Does that work?

but neither one shows up

Downloaded imgsizer from here:
http://www.lumis.com/page/imgsizer/
and placed into third_party folder such that you should have this structure:
/third_party/imgsizer/pi.imgsizer.php

It should now be appearing in your Addons - Plugins page.

This worked for me on build 20100430.

I have installed the plugin in the third_party folder and it doesn’t show up

If I create a folder called imgsixer and put it in that then it’s worse.

Then the Add Ons > Plugins page does not display at ALL. I get a totally blank page.

fensterbaby,

Can you confirm please that you uploaded version 2.6 of the plug-in which is the EE2 version? There are two versions for download on that page. Also just in case double check your spelling of the imgsizer folder. You referred to it as ‘imgsixer’ in your reply

Hi john

Yes it is def the 2.6 for EE2 version.

Also yes that was just a typo in my post and the folder created was imgsizer.

But this seems to be a Plug-ins error. I tried installing Image Resizer and it does not show up in the plug-ins page either.

fensterbaby,

What version and build of EE are you using?
Can you open up /system/index.php and set

$debug 1

Now visit the blank page you were getting. Does it throw an error?

fensterbaby,

I honestly do not know why this isn’t working for you. I just uploaded the the plugin myslef and it works fine.

I uploaded a Image Sizer for EE2 into the plugins folder and set perms to 755.

Have you removed that original one you added?

Something else to try
Can you download the our EE2 ready Add-on zip and try one of those plugins in the third-party folder to see if they work. Remove the imgsizer one folder for now.

I added the two plug-ins that came in that download

First I put them (by mistake) in the third_party folder

Then I moved them to plugins

It didn’t make any difference - NO plug-ins, no matter where I put them show up in the plug-in manager page

One the plug-ins page it says “Plugin Feed Disabled in Beta Version.”

Is that relevant here.

There has to be a solution. I can’t function without plugins

There are over 30 plugins in that zip. What 2 are you only seeing?

First I put them (by mistake) in the third_party folder

That was no mistake. You need to add them to that folder

Okay my bad John.

I uploaded all the plugins and there are a bunch. But NONE of them show up in the plugins page.

There are only 2 that show up and those are from the original install

- magpie RSS parser
- xml encode

plugins uploaded to /system/expressionengine/plugins

You upload *all* plugins to /system/expressionengine/third_party, not plugins. The only ones that don’t go there are the ones that came with the initial install of EE2.

Notice there is a folder for imgsizer in this list.

Yes I did finally figure out that they need to go in Third Party. Put them in there and they appear.

However the list that you show in your screenshot is not what is contained in the Zip that was linked to at:

http://expressionengine.com/public_beta/downloads/

The link for EllisLab ExpressionEngine 2.0 Public Beta Add-ons contains the following

The following add-ons are included in the .zip:

  * Allow EE Code
  * URL and Email Auto Linker
  * Character Limiter
  * Comment HTML Formatting Buttons
  * CSS Switcher
  * Edit Comments
  * ExpressionEngine Cron
  * ExpressionEngine Cron - Retrieve Blacklist
  * ExpressionEngine Cron - Clean Cache
  * ExpressionEngine Cron - Send Email
  * Legacy Typography
  * List Maker
  * NetFlix
  * No Follow
  * No Formatting
  * OPML Parser
  * Parse URL
  * Plugin List
  * Protect Dollar Sign
  * Paragraph to

  * Randomizer
  * Search Highlighter
  * Since Last Visit
  * Technorati
  * Top Authors
  * Twitter Timeline
  * Valid URL
  * Wiki Table of Contents
  * Word Limiter
  * Word Safe
  * World Weather
  * XHTML

This is differenent from what appears in the above screenshot. Alas ImgSizer is not in the list.

Is there another zip I’m not seeing?

Thanks
