Image Sizer not working on EE core 1.6.9

I moved one website to a server which runs PHP Version 5.3.24 and consequently Image Sizer stopped working. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem or is there something else that could be wrong.

Template tags are correct, file paths are OK, field value with path to image is as it should be.

Any ideas anyone?

Massive increase in registration spam

I need help with this please. We are getting so many new registrations (20 or so every minute) that it’s slowing our site down and taxing the server CPU. Here is what i’ve done:

- Turned off Member Registrations
- Enabled Captcha
- Changed the Profile Triggering World

Any idea what else i can do to head this off? Registrations are still pouring in. We don’t use front end registrations at all, so i’d prefer to just get rid of it.

getting flooded with new member registration spam

hoping someone can help here… i’ve disabled new member registrations, i’ve changed the profile word to gibberish, set new members to “banned” group, but nothing is working

i’m getting new member registrations every few minutes… anyone know how I can stop this?

Acquiring 1.7.3

So my company has maybe 5-8 1.7 EE versioned sites. We are migrating all of our 2.x sites over to a new hosting environment. The problem is that the 1.6.8 and 1.7’s we have run on an older verion of PHP. Is there ANY WAY we can get a copy of 1.7.3 as apparently that version will run on our new servers.

We are planning on upgrading those to 2.x but really need to migrate these sites before that will happen.

Any help would be awesome!

Hi,

Why does EE attach a pound sign and a dot and a random character string after each url?

How can I turn this off?

e.g.:

http://www.example.com/mytemplategroup/mytemplate/#.UYvge5Ud7Bp

Turning off Member Registration

Lately spammers have been filing in as members on a site I’m working on. I’ve been manually deleting them because when I try to turn off member registration I get this message, “The following path you submitted is not valid:”

With a file path that doesn’t exist. I tried looking for it, but it isn’t there. How do I get control of this?

RSS Custom Field in MailChimp

HI! I am pretty new to EE, just inherited this project.

I am struggling to get a custom field to pass through an RSS feed to a Mail Chimp Merge Tag *|FEEDITEM:IMAGE|*

I am hoping pull an image source into a newsletter.

CodeIgniter Integrating with Wordpress

Ok, bit of a foreword:

I know this isn’t advisable; I have already built a system back-end in CodeIgniter, the client has a wordpress theme he wants to use though, and to manage the front end pages.

I’ve managed to get this working up to a point:

I’ve got wordpress installed at root level /

then I have codeigniter off the root at /ci/

In my codeigniter ‘index.php’ I have the following to avoid the ‘site_url’ collision.

This is all OK; I can call get_header & get_footer from CodeIgniter which is great.

What is causing me no end of grief though, is WordPresses handling of sessions. I’m using a codeigniter session, which is actually stored within the $_COOKIE array by the looks of things.

On the codeigniter pages I have that call the get_header and get_footer functions, the codeigniter session ($_COOKIE) seems to be getting reset. On the inital load, its present but on any subsequent requests its disappeared. I’ve been going through codeigniters code forever trying to find anything that might be doing this. The only thing remotely similar is ‘wp_unregister_GLOBALS()’ in load.php (wp_includes)

However this is not the cause. I’ve tried commenting out this function and the problem remains.

Is there anywhere in WordPress that may be causing this to be reset/emptied?

Strangely enough, pages created through WordPress seem to be ok. Just CI pages that are calling the get_header / footer functions.

Trouble installing ee-1.6.8 and/or 1.6.9

I keep getting an MYSQL error when trying to run the installation wizard for ee168 and ee169.
It thinks that the user “root” does not have the appropriate privileges, when in fact it has ALL privileges. This started happening when i upgraded wamp to version 2.2…

Does ee168/169 have any issues with PHP 5.3.13 OR MySQL 5.5.24 ??

Other installations like 1.7.2 through 2.5.5 work just fine.

Login Loop

In all three browsers when trying to login it just refreshes. This seems like a common problem and I have even experienced it in the past. I am currently working locally with the WAMP stack and it was working fine yesterday. I have added every suggested config variable and even made sure that my PHP and EE time settings are the same to no avail. Here are my config variables:
